PEL is currently focusing on the following area: PEL has pursued research in the following areas:
  • Instruction Trace Generation
    Implementation and investigation of novel ways of generating and collecting accurate traces from various systems.

  • Internet Service Performance
    Evaluation of current systems and technologies, investigating new ways of improving web server and caching technologies.

  • Locality Surfaces
    A unique way to look at the temporal and spatial locality of a stream of numbers.

  • Low Power Computer Systems
    Investigation of ways to decrease energy consumption without degrading performance.

  • PEL Object Devices
    Investigation and implementation of hardware objects that exhibit software object-oriented capabilities.
